Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be just for romance. Try one of these 14 ideas to spread a little love in the world for this month.

    1. Write a letter to someone who may be lonely.
    2. Volunteer for your favorite charity.
    3. Look a store clerk or waiter in the eye and thank them for their service.
    4. Make a phone call to a friend in another state that you haven’t connected with lately.
    5. Take a friend to lunch.
    6. Leave an anonymous note on a neighbor’s door complimenting them on something you like about them.
    7. Leave a 100% tip.
    8. Take a child on a “Date.” If you don’t have one of your own, borrow a younger relative or child of a close friend. (Don’t be creepy and stalk random children at the playground!)
    9. Drop off dinner for someone who is sick.
    10. Share a talent you have with someone else. (I.e. bake cookies, perform a musical number, write a poem, share your pet, draw a picture)
    11. Take an online friendship offline. Meet in person or over the phone for a real conversation.
    12. Hold the door open for someone.
    13. Drop a Valentine’s gift off at a senior living facility. Ask them to give it to someone lonely.
    14. Say, “I love you!” to the people who really matter to you.
