Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be just for romance. Try one of these 14 ideas to spread a little love in the world for this month.
- Write a letter to someone who may be lonely.
- Volunteer for your favorite charity.
- Look a store clerk or waiter in the eye and thank them for their service.
- Make a phone call to a friend in another state that you haven’t connected with lately.
- Take a friend to lunch.
- Leave an anonymous note on a neighbor’s door complimenting them on something you like about them.
- Leave a 100% tip.
- Take a child on a “Date.” If you don’t have one of your own, borrow a younger relative or child of a close friend. (Don’t be creepy and stalk random children at the playground!)
- Drop off dinner for someone who is sick.
- Share a talent you have with someone else. (I.e. bake cookies, perform a musical number, write a poem, share your pet, draw a picture)
- Take an online friendship offline. Meet in person or over the phone for a real conversation.
- Hold the door open for someone.
- Drop a Valentine’s gift off at a senior living facility. Ask them to give it to someone lonely.
- Say, “I love you!” to the people who really matter to you.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Live Your LifeTM!
